PT Anugrah Argon Medica (AAM) presents AKAR (AAM Knowledge Sharing for Customer), an educational platform regularly held for pharmacists to update their clinical knowledge and gain insights into the development of digital-based pharmaceutical services. Held on Wednesday, 20 May 2026, the session carried the theme “Keeping the Respiratory Tract Healthy” and was attended by 60 pharmacists from various pharmacies across Jakarta.
During the AKAR session, dr. Ayu Anatriera, MPH, Sp.THT-KL delivered a presentation on the importance of maintaining upper respiratory tract health as the body’s first line of defense against pollution, allergens, viruses, and environmental exposure. She explained that the nose functions not only as a respiratory organ, but also as a natural filter that warms and humidifies the air before it enters the lungs.
dr. Ayu emphasized the importance of applying the “Open and Clean” principle in maintaining nasal health. The nasal passage should remain open to ensure optimal airflow and prevent conditions such as breathing difficulties, sleep apnea, and worsening asthma symptoms. In addition, maintaining nasal hygiene is essential to support the body’s natural defense mechanisms.

One simple practice recommended was routine nasal irrigation using saline solution. According to dr. Ayu, nasal saline irrigation helps remove mucus, dust, allergens, and inflammatory mediators that may trigger respiratory disorders such as allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, and prolonged colds.
“Nasal irrigation is a safe, simple, and practical method to help maintain upper respiratory tract health. In addition to cleansing the nasal cavity, saline solution also helps maintain mucosal moisture and supports the nose’s natural defense function,” explained dr. Ayu.
She further explained that regular use of nasal saline may improve the quality of life of patients with allergic rhinitis, reduce nasal congestion symptoms, and enhance the effectiveness of nasal spray medications when used prior to other intranasal therapies.

Beyond the clinical discussion, AKAR also highlighted the growing role of digital pharmaceutical services in daily pharmacy practice. Desi Septian, Quality & Compliance Manager of GoApotik, presented the latest regulatory changes regarding prescription drug purchases through Pharmacy Electronic System Providers (PSEF) following the issuance of Minister of Health Regulation No. 11 of 2025 and Indonesian FDA Regulation No. 14 of 2024.
“Under these regulations, all prescription medicine orders must now be processed through electronic prescriptions. Uploading prescription photos is no longer permitted, and a dual verification process by both the PSEF pharmacist-in-charge and the pharmacy pharmacist-in-charge is required,” said Mrs. Desi.
These regulatory updates further reinforce the direction of digital transformation within Indonesia’s pharmaceutical services sector, particularly in the electronic prescription fulfillment process.

The event was conducted interactively, with active participation from attendees during the discussion sessions on respiratory disorder management and the latest developments in digital pharmacy services. The session was also attended by Mr. Mukmin Nahar, Head of Branch AAM Jakarta 1; Mr. Deni Fahrizal, Customer Relations Manager AAM; Mrs. Neneng Mutmainah, Head of GoApotik, and Mrs. Elvira Wihana Kalukar, Product Manager Victory.
Through the AKAR program, AAM hopes pharmacists will continue to enhance their understanding of healthcare advancements and digital technology developments, enabling them to provide more modern, adaptive, and patient-oriented pharmaceutical services.
