In today’s increasingly dynamic workplace, organizational success is not determined solely by business strategies and performance achievements, but also by how companies foster healthy and respectful working relationships among employees.

At PT Medela Potentia Tbk and its subsidiaries, a culture of appreciation has become an integral part of the Company’s values and daily work practices, continuously strengthened in alignment with one of its core values, Deal with Care.

This commitment was reflected in a leadership development program titled “Leading with Appreciation: The Language of Appreciation at Work,” delivered by Mrs. Nancy Kartika, HR Director of PT Medela Potentia Tbk, on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the Head Office, Titan Center.

The session was attended by members of the Board of Directors and management teams of PT Medela Potentia Tbk and its subsidiaries across the head office, branch offices, and operational sites. It served as a collaborative learning platform to further reinforce leadership practices that recognize and value individual contributions.

During the session, leaders were reintroduced to the concept of the Five Languages of Appreciation, based on the book The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace by Gary Chapman and Paul White, which highlights that each individual has a different way of experiencing recognition and appreciation.

“Social relationships are essential in fulfilling human social and emotional needs. Behind every rational decision, there is always an emotional dimension. Therefore, practicing appreciation in the workplace can help build more positive relationships between supervisors, staff, and colleagues, improve attendance and productivity, strengthen corporate culture, create a more positive work environment, enhance employee engagement, and reduce employee turnover,” Mrs. Nancy explained.

Appreciation can be expressed in various forms, ranging from words of affirmation and quality time to gifts, acts of service, and positive gestures. Understanding these differences in how individuals perceive appreciation enriches the Company’s leadership approach in building more personal, effective, and meaningful working relationships.

The session also emphasized that a positive employee experience is not solely defined by workplace facilities such as technology or the physical environment. More importantly, employees seek sincere recognition for the contributions they make.

In addition to the presentation, participants took part in interactive activities and assessments designed to help them identify their respective “languages of appreciation,” enabling them to better understand how their colleagues prefer to be recognized.

As the workplace continues to evolve, the workforce composition across many organizations — including PT Medela Potentia Tbk and its subsidiaries — is increasingly dominated by Millennial and Gen Z generations. These generations bring new dynamics, seeking not only professional growth opportunities but also supportive work environments that acknowledge their contributions.

Within PT Medela Potentia Tbk and its subsidiaries, leadership plays a crucial role in sustaining this culture of appreciation. Genuine and consistent recognition has been proven to enhance employee confidence, strengthen team spirit, and encourage individuals to continuously grow and deliver their best contributions to the organization.
